The P.E. Department organizes and oversees different sports competitions during the daily lunch break so our students will have the opportunity to be physically active outside of the classroom.

 

These activities are:

 

•  Singles tennis tournament,

•  Mini-soccer tournament,

•  Streetball (basketball),

•  Three-point shooting contest (basketball),

•  Beach volleyball.

 

OUT-OF-SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

 

ACI teams participate in tournaments and leagues organized through the Ministry of Education.  The Konak Ministry of Education organizes special competitions during the year such as: street basketball, beach-volleyball, and cross-country races.

 

Our student-athletes also compete in league and tournament play for boys and girls basketball, boys and girls volleyball, and cross-country.

 

ACI teams also participate in private invitation-only tournaments hosted by other schools as well as our own on-campus tournaments.

 

SCHOOL TEAMS

 

For those students who are interested in sports activities, ACI offers a competitive sports program which conducts its training after school in our modern multi-court Shepard Sports Hall. Both boys and girls compete in basketball, volleyball, football, and badminton matches against other schools in Izmir. During the fall and spring semester, ACI hosts its own sports tournament, The Shepard Cup, in which the top volleyball and basketball teams in Izmir compete against one another at ACI.
